If you are looking for something to do in Lincolnshire you wont be disappointed! Packed full of history, beautiful countryside and plenty of activities and visitor attractions there is always something to do come rain or shine.
Our part of Lincolnshire is renowned for aviation – The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is based nearby at Coningsby, The Petwood Hotel at Woodhall Spa is the historic home of 617 squadron the Dambusters and whilst your in Woodhall Spa remember to pop along to see the Dambusters memorial. East Kirkby offers you the chance to visit the Lancaster Bomber 'Just Jane' on a preserved WW2 base. We also have The Bomber Command Centre at Lincoln and not forgetting our very own Donna Nook RAF practice range at the end of the road where you can often see planes practising their skills during the week.
For train enthusiasts you can take a ride on a steam train at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway or for something on a smaller scale take a trip along Cleethorpes seafront on their light railway.
For car lovers, take a trip back in time with the Bubble Car Museum at Langrick or there are regular classic car meets just along the road at Saltfleet.
When visiting Lincoln, you cant miss the breath-taking castle and cathedral that stands at the top of the hill over looking the city. Tattershall also has a magnificent 15th century red brick castle to offer.
The county also boasts many beautiful houses and gardens such as Gunby and Doddington Hall which are open to the public.
Grimsby was once the biggest fishing port in the world, find out all about its heritage at the fishing museum. Louth also proudly hosts a museum where you can find out all about the local area.
November brings our local seal colony into the beach at the end of our road for their breeding season. You can wander along a dedicated path and see thousands of seals including young pups, their mothers and bulls. You may even be lucky enough to see one being born! Outside of November you can also see seals at the local sanctuaries based at Mablethorpe and Skegness.
To encounter other species of animal visit Rand Farm near Lincoln for a fun family day out.
The Wolds Wildlife Park at Horncastle and Friskney Lincolnshire Wildlife Park offers offers the chance to can see majestic big cats, naughty monkeys or beautiful birds. Horncastle also offers bookable experiences such as feeding lemurs or being a zoo keeper for the day.
For equine lovers, North Cotes Heavy Horses in Spilsby offers a fun day out meeting and greeting the horses and learning all about the different breeds.
And finally to see some animals that live away from dry land visit The Deep in Hull or Skegness aquarium.
We are so lucky to be on the Lincolnshire coast and surrounded by popular seaside resorts including Mablethorpe, Cleethorpes and Skegness. We also have smaller, quiter beaches such as Huttoft, Sutton on Sea and Anderby Creek, many of which allow dogs (subject to season).
The larger seaside resorts offer typical amusements and shops, however we are ideally located to visit Lincoln, Hull, Louth and Grimsby for a larger retail experience
If you like walking and/or cycling there are miles of beautiful countryside to explore. Just at the bottom of our road we have Donna Nook Nature Reserve where you can wander round and see stunning wildlife or join the coastal path and walk as far as you like.
Louth offers the picturesque Hubbards Hills, ideal for dog walking with a gentle stream for your furry friend to dip their toes in.
Leisure centres at Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Louth offer a range of activities including swimming.
For children (Big or Small!) Mablethorpe has a family friendly aquapark for hours of fun.
Also on offer in the area are activities such as 10 pin bowling, Golfing and clay shooting.
You only have to wander into the village to find a fantastic village inn, The Axe and Cleaver, or Gigis restaurant that serves traditional Italian food.
North Somercotes also has a Chinese takeaway whilst Fourways offers pizzas, burgers and Kebabs.
If you want delicious fresh food to cook yourself, Holmes Butchers are less than a mile away.
Slightly further afield, Louth offers an array of eateries or for traditional Fish and Chips we recommend Papas on the pier at Cleethorpes.
